Community Windpower has rebranded to CWP Energy.
The change to CWP Energy reflects the decision to expand from the core focus of onshore wind generation to include solar, battery storage and green hydrogen.
Since launching in 2001, CWP Energy has secured a development portfolio exceeding 3GW, with capital investment approaching £1bn.
Investing in local power generation will continue at the forefront of CWP Energy’s strategy “creating jobs for communities and investment for local economies”.
To date, CWP Energy has provided over £10m in community investment funding across their nine operational wind farms in Scotland.
Rod Wood, Managing Director, said: “Our new identity reflects the new strategic direction to widen and expand our renewable energy investments in Scotland and the United Kingdom, to support the urgent transition away from fossil fuels to green energy.
“This expansion will create significant job opportunities in civil, electrical and renewable energy engineering, construction and capital investment driving economic growth locally and regionally around the United Kingdom.”
