Offshore wind energy services business Venterra Group has appointed of Ed Daniels (pictured) as chief executive.
He will join the group on 1 October and replaces Philippe Kavafyan in the role.
Venterra is building a service offering across the wind farm lifecycle comprising engineer, build and support services through a combination of acquisition and organic development to generate accelerated growth in the fast-expanding market.
Daniels was strategy, sustainability and corporate relations director at Shell, where he sat on the executive committee and had accountability for the company’s existing strategy, sustainability and corporate relations organisations.
He most recently led a series of industry-related projects for Bain & Co.
Venterra executive chairman Ayman Asfari said: “The board is pleased to appoint Ed Daniels to this important role and has confidence in his ability to deliver Venterra’s vision for wind power to play a leading role in the energy transition.
“I would like to thank Philippe for his contribution at a time when his expertise was critical to the growth of our business.”
