Muirhall Energy has secured a Contract for Difference (CfD) for the 46MW Priestgill wind farm in Scotland in Allocation Round 6 (AR6).
This is the first CfD Muirhall Energy has been awarded and is key for the project, which is located north-east of Abington, South Lanarkshire.
Once commissioned, Priestgill will generate £231,000 in community investment funding annually.
Chris Walker, Founder and Chairman of Muirhall Energy, said: “We are delighted to have secured a CfD for Priestgill Wind Farm, however, the strike price in this round is lower again than earlier CfD auction rounds against a backdrop of increasing prices, global competition and geo-political uncertainty.
“We would welcome further dialogue with the new UK Government in relation to future CfD rounds that would reflect the real challenges we face in delivering onshore wind projects.”
