JERA’s renewable energy business JERA Nex has appointed Zlati Christov as its chief investment officer.
Christov brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, M&A and private investing to the London-headquartered JERA Nex, it said.
Previously, he was a managing director at Morgan Stanley where he had responsibility for renewable energy and energy transition investment banking client coverage in EMEA.
During his investment banking career, Christov led strategic advisory, M&A and capital raises for many of the leading European and international utilities, renewable energy and clean technology companies.
He will report to chief executive Nathalie Oosterlinck and sit on the company’s Leadership team, with responsibility for overseeing JERA Nex’ investment strategy for its growing asset portfolio across geographies and technologies and also leading its M&Aa and partnerships execution team.
“Zlati’s appointment is another important step towards JERA Nex’s ambitions to scale rapidly and deliver the energy transition,” said Oosterlinck.
“Since our launch in April, we have achieved several milestones including most recently the acquisition of two solar farms in the US from Lightsourcebp,” she added.
“Zlati joins us at the perfect time to continue this momentum and we look forward to his playing a key role in our growth.”
