The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is holding a meeting next month to explore developing offshore wind projects in Guam.
The Guam Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force meeting will be held on 11 September 2024 in Hagatna, in the US island territory in the Pacific Ocean.
BOEM said the purpose of the meeting is for task force members to discuss updates on the potential for offshore renewable energy offshore Guam.
The meeting will include an overview of Guam’s renewable energy goals and BOEM’s leasing process.
It will also provide task force members an opportunity to share information and perspectives on offshore wind planning and discuss potential next steps, BOEM added.
Furthermore, there will be opportunities for questions and public input, both virtually and in-person, at the end of the meeting.
