Enercon has signed a supply contract for its new 6MW turbine for a project with Turkish energy producer Enerjisa Uretim.
The E-175 EP5 model will be used at the Bandirma Energy Base scheme in Balikesir province.
Turbine installation is planned for mid-2025, with commissioning for fourth quarter 2025.
The E-175 EP5 prototype is being installed in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, while series production is being prepared at Enercon‘s factories.
“We are seeing a great deal of interest in our new top model from our international customers,’ said Enercon chief commercial officer Uli Schulze Sudhoff at the signing of the contract for the for the first international E-175 EP5 project.
He added: “We have already sold the volume for 2025.
“We are also in concrete negotiations with customers for numerous projects for the next 24 months – and there are also further enquiries, including from more and more international customers.”
Regional Head of Enercon‘s Central Asia, Middle East and Africa region (CAMEA) Arif Gunyar added: “The supply contract with Enerjisa Üretim should be the beginning for us.
“We have a close relationship with the Turkish market. We have been contributing to the Turkish energy transition for more than 25 years.
“It is therefore important to us to work with our Turkish partners to drive forward the onshore expansion and the energy transition in Türkiye with our new generation of turbines.”
