Corio Generation, TotalEnergies, and SK Eco Plant JV BadaEnergy has completed environmental impact assessment (EIA) discussions for the 1500MW Gray Whale Floating Offshore Wind Power Project off Ulsan, South Korea.
The consultation on the main plan is the final stage of environmental impact assessment, and the final approval of the main plan for Gray Whale requires thorough investigation of the project’s impact on various environmental factors.
This includes the marine ecosystem and professional reduction measures for environmental changes.
BadaEnergy said that the important procedures to be prepared have been successfully completed.
In November 2021 an environmental impact assessment preparation for the project was submitted.
The project received final approval from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy after consultations with the Ministry of Environment and related organisations over the next two years.
The developer now plans to cooperate with the local community, industry, and supply chain to establish a long-term, sustainable business environment for the project to contribute to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs.
