The first of Cadeler’s M-class newbuilds Wind Maker (pictured) has been launched from Hanwha Ocean Ship Yard in South Korea.
Wind Maker will be delivered Q1 2025 and will proceed directly to its first wind turbine installation project for Orsted’s Greater Changhua Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan.
Cadeler said it is “proud to deliver yet another state-of-the-art wind installation vessel, capable of installing the next generation of turbines, to the demanding offshore wind market”.
It added: “The Partners’ success is of the utmost importance to Cadeler – not only for commercial viability, but for our common efforts in pushing the envelope for what’s possible to achieve in offshore wind energy expansion.
“We’re ready to meet a fast-growing and dynamic market demand.”
The shipyard will now complete the commissioning, testing and sea trials.
