GE Vernova has secured a €700m turbine contract for a 760MW wind farm project in Spain.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has placed the order for the delivery, installation and commissioning of 125 GE Vernova 6.1-158 units at the Teruel wind project.
CIP has been promoting the project through contracts with a developer in the Maestrazgo cluster and which is expected to begin the construction phase shortly.
The agreement also includes a 15-year full-service contract.
The order announced is one of the largest contracts for wind projects in Spain and was booked in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to GE.
It is expected that the blades of the 125 turbines will be manufactured at GE Vernova’s plant in Les Coves de Vinroma, in Castellon.
The unit towers are also expected to be manufactured in Spanish plants of other companies located in Albacete, Burgos and Galicia.
