Ocean Winds has received the title of 2024 Offshore Wind Developer of the Year in recognition of its business development strategies as well as its achievement in reaching financial close for three bottom-fixed projects in France and the UK in 2023 at the Wind Investment Awards in London.
Its 882 MW Moray West scheme was also honoured as the Project Finance of the Year 2024 winner.
Hosted by global renewable energy and clean technology community, Tamarindo, the Wind Investment Awards unite prominent decision-makers to enable opportunities to network and forge long-term business connections.
The Offshore Wind Developer of the Year award was attributed to OW’s expansive business development strategies on a global scale – with already 18GW of capacity, with close to 2GW currently under construction and 1.5 GW already operational – as well as its project financial excellence by obtaining more than €7.4bn euros of financing in April 2023 alone for the Moray West, Dieppe Le Tréport and îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier projects.
The second award was for Ocean Winds’ Moray West project as Project Finance of the Year, thanks to its innovative project financing pioneer in the UK, as well as its integration of one of the largest turbines being installed in Europe.
