Industry leaders from some of the UK’s biggest energy investors will come together later this month to outline how the east of England will help shape the UK’s future security and supply.

The people making decisions on multi-billion-pound transformational offshore wind projects in the region will share a stage on May 22 and 23 at the flagship conference and exhibition SNS2024 in Norwich, organised by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR).

Platinum sponsor ScottishPower Renewables’ will give exclusive insight into its East Anglia Hub that will generate 3.1GW of green power in a £6.5bn three offshore wind farm project with the first, East Anglia THREE in construction.

The new owners of the 4.2GW Norfolk Offshore Wind Projects, RWE, will reveal its plans.

Ross Ovens, managing director for offshore at the East Anglia Hub and Adam Ezzamel, head of offshore development England and Wales for RWE, will headline 50 speakers from across the industry confirmed for the two-day event.

In the opening session, they will be joined by Faye Sherriffs, senior vice president strategic partnerships of OPITO, a global skills leader building the energy workforce of the future, and Tom McGarry, director of external affairs for strategic infrastructure and Jane Cooper, executive director of offshore wind at RenewableUK.

More than 1500 visitors are expected to attend SNS2024 at the Norfolk Showground to gather valuable market insights and practical business strategies.

More than 70 trade stands will be set up in the exhibition and networking hall.

This year’s event is themed the Energy EcoSystem, focusing on the energy industry in and close to the Southern North Sea – long hailed the Sea of Opportunity – and the crucial role it will play in powering the UK’s future.

EEEGR Chair Kevin Keable (pictured) said: “The Energy EcoSystem is about all sectors of the energy industry working together to convert and transmit energy sources to power the UK to net zero targets, while growing the supply chain and developing a skilled mobile workforce in the East of England.

“SNS2024 is an unparalleled opportunity to network, tackle pressing issues, the latest technological advancements, and forge strategic alliances.

“The East of England has been at the forefront of energy development for nearly 60 years, but has never been so diverse, with so much collaboration, invention and creativity technically to make the most of our natural resources.

“We have asked our businesses who they wanted to hear from and have created a conference packed with exclusive insight and forecasting from big businesses and policymakers.”

New for 2024 is a session tackling a key challenge for the industry, How do we approach Gender Equality in the Energy Industry? facilitated by Equinor.

Day one will be closed by Tom Glover, UK country chair for RWE, who will share its diverse UK portfolio.

More than 180 Meet the Buyer sessions for the Norfolk Offshore Wind Project are booking fast for face-to-face meetings with RWE and its contractors Murphy, SeAH and Peel Ports.

Also new for 2024 is the first visit to an SNS event by Norwegian Offshore Wind.

They will help businesses identify new markets with export opportunities, along with opportunities in the US MidAtlantic sector with Virginia Beach.

Creating a sustainable low carbon energy hub at Bacton using existing facilities, infrastructure and connectivity associated with the Bacton Gas Terminal will be discussed on Day Two.

Exhibitors are invited to deliver elevator pitches on the Exhibition Hall stage ahead of the return of the Pitch, Pint and Prosecco event.
