Statera Energy has kicked off public consultations on its proposed 3GW Kintore Hydrogen green hydrogen project near Kintore, Aberdeenshire.
The public exhibition at Kintore Bowling Club followed completion of an Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping process with Aberdeenshire Council and other consultees.
Members of the public were invited to view the plans and meet members of the project team, who were in attendance to answer questions and gather feedback.
The exhibition material is available to view on the project website, with an online feedback form for those people who were not able to attend the event. Comments should be returned no later than the 17 May.
A second event will be held on 19 June to provide an update on the proposals and address key points arising from the first consultation. That will also be held at Kintore Bowling Club, Castle Walk, Kintore, Inverurie, AB51 0RU.
Statera said Kintore Hydrogen is a flagship project which will use electrolysis technology to turn abundant electricity generated by Scottish wind into green hydrogen, which can be used for the decarbonisation of power generating facilities and carbon intensive industrial clusters across the country.
The site has been selected due to its proximity to the existing Kintore substation, National Gas transmission pipelines, and a non-potable water source from the River Don.
The location also allows access to the expert energy sector workforce in north-east Scotland.
