Six developers have bid for eight different offshore wind farms in the latest Taiwan auction round, the country’s Ministry of Economic Affairs announced.
The bids in the auction, known as 3.2, have come from developers in Taiwan, Europe, and the Americas, according to the ministry.
While the ministry did not specify which developers made bids, sources said the bids in the auction came from Corio, CIP, SRE, Orsted, EnerVest, and Shinfox.
There are a number of new elements in this latest auction, including self-selection of industrial-related projects, an increase of developable capacity of wind farms, and one-year grid connection flexibility.
Taiwan’s current installed offshore wind capacity sites at 2.33GW, the government said, and capacity in the 3.2 auction were expected to reach 3.6GW of capacity.
