SmartestEnergy and Blackfinch Energy have signed two new power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the delivery of 33MW of solar capacity to the grid, bringing the shared portfolio of the two companies to 54MW.
The PPA covers the 8.9MW Bryngolwg solar farm in Wales, and the 24MW Horsey Levels solar farm in Somerset.
“We’re proud to partner with a forward-thinking investor like Blackfinch, and this latest collaboration further strengthens a long-standing relationship, with several PPA deals, both operational and pre-construction,” Head of Generation at SmartestEnergy Angus Widdowson said.
“With close collaboration we act as a stable and reliable partner, supporting Blackfinch’s continued investment in renewable energy projects by providing a viable route to market,” he said.
“Power Purchase Agreements are an important part of our strategy to create value for retail investors. Investing into energy infrastructure takes careful management of risk around energy pricing, to understand the impact on investor portfolios both now and in the future,” Blackfinch Investment Director Alan Gorman said.
