The successful completion of the 6GW offshore wind tender this year in Denmark could lock in a total investment of over €13bn, according to new research.
Danish Chamber of Commerce Dansk Erhverv said building the wind farms will result in 12,000 construction jobs until 2030.
The tenders include the areas North Sea, Kattegat, Hesselø and Kriegers Flak.
Dansk Erhverv said it is vital the auction is designed properly.
“If the 6GW sent out for tender is to be realised, it requires that the tender frameworks generate a high level of investor interest. In other words, it must be attractive to install offshore wind,” it stated.
“It is therefore important that there is a fair distribution of risk between the private offshore wind developers and the state, as well as a clear and transparent arrangement of the state co-ownership in the future offshore wind farms.”
