India plans to provide viability gap funding for 1000MW of offshore wind projects.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made the announcement as part of the country’s interim budget.

The funding is designed to help India meet its commitment to reach net zero by 2070.
In addition, the budget envisions pushing rooftop solarisation towards a goal of providing 100m homes with up to 300kWh of free electricity per month.
However, no details were provided about either scheme in the budget.
