Deloitte Ireland has hired Maria Lucey to as a partner within its M&A Advisory team to lead the renewable energy practice.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Lucey spent almost a decade in Copenhagen and London at Orsted, where she was responsible for co-heading the Partnerships and M&A team and led their joint ventures, farm downs and platform acquisitions globally.
Lucey said: “This is an exciting time to be working in the renewable energy sector, especially in Ireland, and I look forward to helping our clients accelerate their investments in renewable energy assets as part of our critical energy transition.
“Ireland has the opportunity to be a leader in renewable energy deployment.
“2024 will be a critical year for the sector, with for example, 900MW of offshore wind to be auctioned in Ireland and a number of critical policy changes expected to enable the growth of the industry.
“Launching this renewable energy practice will build on Deloitte’s platform of services and industry expertise helping clients source, evaluate, and structure transactions, that will make a significant impact in decarbonising our energy systems, accelerating Ireland’s position as a leader in renewable energy.”
