Vestas has recorded an order intake of almost 7GW for the final quarter of 2023, an all-time high in quarterly announced orders for the turbine maker.
The figure of 6945MW comprises 30 order announcements across Asia-Pacific, Australia, Europe, Africa and North America.
Onshore wind projects in the US account for the majority of orders.
They include a firm and unconditional order in December to supply Pattern Energy for the 1089MW SunZia project in New Mexico, first announced as a conditional order in August.
They also include a 945MW order in December to supply an undisclosed wind farm in the US, consisting of 210 V163-4.5MW turbines.
In the same month Vestas also received a 401MW order to supply the West Camp wind project in Navajo County, Arizona owned by The AES Corporation.
Outside of the US, other big orders include 108MW placed by independent power producer Red Rocket for the Witberg wind farm, to be located in Western Cape, South Africa.
In December Vestas also scored its biggest order in Europe in the quarter, for the 186MW Pahkakoski project in Finland.
Vestas said that unannounced MW in the fourth quarter of 2023 will be disclosed in its 2023 annual report.
