Jumbo Offshore has completed installation of transition pieces at Iberdrola’s 476MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
Earlier this year, Van Oord partnered with the heavy lift shipping and offshore transport & installation contractor to put the structures in place at the offshore project.
Heavy lift vessel Fairplayer completed the installation scope with the grouting operation for the 50th and final transition piece last month.
Van Oord had contracted Jumbo Offshore to transport 33 TPs from the port of Mukran in Germany to the site and support with the installation, including grouting, bolting and completion works.
The milestone was completed just three months after the vessel reservation agreement was signed, an achievement Jumbo puts down to the trust and transparent cooperation between its project team and their counterparts at VanOord which it said had previously worked together on the 385MW Arkona offshore wind farm in Germany.
