Envision has won a 653MW turbine order from JSW Energy for a wind project in Karnataka and Maharashtra, India.
The company will provide 198 of its EN 156-3.3MW turbines.
The project is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2024.
Envision said that its turbines, which have a rotor diameter of 156 metres, a hub height of 140 metres and a rated capacity of 3.3MW, are “best suited to thrive” in the Indian wind regime.
RPV Prasad, CEO of Envision Wind Power Technologies India, said: “It is a really happy moment for us as we partner with JSW Energy to leverage India’s wind energy potential in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
“As part of our commitment to the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, we will assemble the nacelle and hubs for the wind turbines at our Pune factory, produce blades in our Trichy factory and source tower components from our manufacturers based out of Maharashtra.
“The booming Indian wind energy landscape would play a pivotal role in propelling the country towards net zero.”
In India, Envision has commissioned 330MW of wind projects and has been awarded more than 4.7GW of additional projects.
To maintain this positive growth trend, the company has established an annual manufacturing capacity of 3GW for nacelles and hubs in Pune and 2.5GW of capacity for blades, featuring nine moulds, at its Trichy factory.
In India Envision covers six states and has more than 20 project sites with a cumulative order book nearing 5GW.
