UK developer Ridge Clean Energy (RCE) has received planning approval for a 50MW solar-storage project in Nottinghamshire, in the UK.
Fair Oaks Renewable Energy Park (REP) will be built on land to the south-west of Ruddington village was approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council on 2 October 2023.
Fair Oaks REP will combine solar generation with battery storage.
The associated Fair Oaks Community Benefit Fund is projected to provide £24,950 per year for the 40 year lifespan of the project.

Positive benefits for nature are in store for the moderate quality land with a 75% net gain in habitat and biodiversity expected through new ecological and enhanced planting measures.
The scheme will include an array of ground-mounted solar panels with species-rich seed mix in between the rows to encourage wildlife especially bees and birds and a battery.
The Fair Oaks site was adjusted following feedback received from the local community at the public exhibition in terms of the access route.
The project is part of Ridge Clean Energy’s portfolio of 10 renewable energy parks in development.
