RWE has inaugurated the extension of the Epine Marie-Madeleine wind farm, located in the department of Aisne.
Started in November 2021, the construction work on the 22.8MW project was spread over one year to erect the seven wind turbines distributed between Montigny-le-Franc (three units), Tavaux-et-Pontséricourt (two) and Agnicourt-et-Séchelles (two).
These new machines have been injecting power into the grid since December 2022 and will meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 12,800 households.
President of RWE Renewables France Joseph Fonio said: “The inauguration of this extension of the Epine Marie-Madeleine wind farm illustrates RWE’s vision of energy transition.
“Our strategy is based on leveraging the skills of regional stakeholders and RWE’s experience, while promoting transparent communication with elected officials and residents.
“Even today, this new inauguration proves the importance of the support of local residents and their adhesion, which is why we are focusing on ambitious consultation phases, thanks to our in-house experts who have a privileged link with local residents.”
RWE offers discounts on electricity bills for residents of the three municipalities where the park is located.
