High-tech Greek start-up nvisionist has teamed up with Terna Energy to install its nvbird system at the country’s largest wind farm.
The installation of the innovative bird detection and monitoring system nvbird at the site is the largest single installation of a bird collision avoidance system for wind turbines in the world said nvisionist.
Terna’s flagship project is under construction in South Evia and will have an installed capacity of 330MW from its 111 turbines.
The nvbird technology uses AI and Machine Learning technologies to prevent bird collisions with wind turbine blades, virtually eliminating false stoppages of wind turbines, significantly optimizing their productivity, while protecting rare avian species from colliding with wind turbines said the company.
