Baltic Power has secured three building permits relating to 1200MW of offshore wind capacity it is developing off the coast of Poland.
The Pomeranian Voivode Dariusz Drelich issued a permit for the construction of 76 turbines in the Baltic Sea.
The second permit is for the construction of two power stations offshore.
The third is for the construction of a power and telecommunications network connecting offshore wind turbines and transformer stations.
Earlier this month Vestas signed a conditional agreement for the up to 1200MW offshore Baltic Power project.
The development is a joint venture between PKN ORLEN and Northland Power.
The site is 22.5km from shore and will feature 12MW-plus turbines on monopile foundations at depths of 33 metres to 45 metres.
