The Swedish government has rejected Vattenfall’s application to build the 864MW Stora Middelgrund offshore wind farm.
The Swedish developer said it “regrets the government’s announcement”.

“We will now analyze the decision more closely to see what consequences it brings”, it added.
The plans were rejected as the project “would risk damaging sensitive natural values in an unacceptable way”, Minister for climate and environment Romina Pourmokhtari said.
The negative impact on national interests in shipping has also weighed heavily in the Government’s assessment, Pourmokhtari added, Reuters reported.
