XOCEAN has announced the creation of 300 new jobs as part of its strategic growth plan in Ireland.
The update came as the company’s team welcomed Minister of State for Trade Promotion and Digital Transformation, Dara Calleary, to mark the official opening of its new Technical Centre near Carlingford, County Louth.
From this facility, the ocean data provider will serve a growing list of international customers, primarily in the rapidly growing offshore wind market.
The company said it is transforming how ocean data is delivered, using innovative marine robotics known as Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). This innovative technology is designed and manufactured by the outfit in Ireland.
The new centre, at Rathcor provides a state-of-the-art operational hub for XOCEAN’s growing fleet with a team of highly qualified engineers and robotic experts ensuring the vessels are serviced on returning from offshore missions all over the world.
The company has doubled its headcount to over 200 over the past 12 months and plans to grow it further to 500 over the next two years, with roles available in all areas of the business including engineers, technicians, field operatives, data analysts, qualified mariners, geophysicists and project managers.
