A Suffolk campaign group has decided to appeal the High Court’s dismissal of a judicial review challenging permit awards for two ScottishPower Renewables wind farms off the east coast of England.
The court last week ruled against Suffolk Energy Action Solutions’ (SEAS) claim against planning permission granted to the 600MW East Anglia 1 North and 900MW EA2 projects.
The group said it is “disappointed the judicial review judgement went against us and our arguments” and intends to appeal the decision.
“We have reviewed the judgment carefully and further to discussions with our legal team we have decided to proceed with an appeal,” it stated.
“We have been disappointed before in this battle and successfully turned things around, so we will continue to challenge our case through the courts.”
SEAS had challenged former BEIS Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng’s decision to authorise Development Consent Orders for the two wind farms in March 2022.
