The Nordex Group has underpinned its market leadership in Turkey with a fresh order for turbines.
VRES Enerji commissioned the manufacturer to supply eight of its N163/6.X units for the 56MW extension of the Kartal wind farm in the Eskişehir Province in the north-west of the country, with installation scheduled for mid-2024. The order also includes a 10-year Premium Service contract.
“We are grateful for our customers’ continued trust in our technology and our experienced team,” said Nordex vice president region Turkey & Middle East Ender Ozatay.
“The Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority has recently announced 25GW pre-license capacity for the next 10-year-period for renewables projects with storage, and we aim to build on our strong position in the country.”
In total, Nordex Group secured 101MW in orders from Turkey in the second quarter of the year. To date, the company has installed 3.5GW in the region, with an additional 889MW still under construction.
