Enercon and Turkish energy producer Enerjisa Üretim have signed a preliminary contract for the delivery of two wind turbine prototypes.
Under the contract Enercon will supply two of its 6MW E-175 EP5 type units, which will have a 175-metre rotor diameter.
The turbines will be delivered in 2024.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Enercon and Enerjisa at WindEurope. In addition to the delivery and installation of the plant technology, the MoU includes the operation and service of the two prototypes.
They will be installed at the Enerjisa Üretim Balıkesir Wind Power Plant and Enerjisa Üretim Bandırma Energy Base (both in Balıkesir Province).
Enercon chief executive Jürgen Zeschky said: “Enercon is already the turbine supplier for the YEKA RES 2 project, in which we will install 1000MW of onshore capacity in Turkey for Enerjisa Üretim over the next three years.
“With the delivery of the new E-175 EP5, we are opening the next chapter of our partnership.”
