Ailes Marines has resumed installation and drilling activities at the 496MW Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, off France.
The operations, which including drilling and installation of jacket foundations, will mobilise up to 30 ships for several months.
Van Oord’s Aeolus vessel returned to the site to resume the drilling and sealing of the piles at 22 wind turbine positions.
In the coming months, installation operations will resume on the 38 jacket foundations still to be installed.
These two campaigns will take place over several months.
Saint-Brieuc will feature 62 8MW turbines, with the first ones to be installed on their foundations in mid-2023.
The installation of the 62 units, including nacelles and blades, will be carried out by Siemens Gamesa from the Brave Tern jack-up platform belonging to Fred Olsen windcarrier.
The sections of the masts for each of the 62 wind turbines previously equipped by Haizea Breizh in Brest will be transported to the port of Le Havre to be assembled there in three dimensions.
For each rotation from Le Havre to the Saint-Brieuc site, Brave Tern will carry four masts, four nacelles and 12 blades.
Depending on weather conditions, commissioning of the first turbines to be installed will occur from the second half of the year.
The installation operations are managed from the Ailes Marines maritime coordination centre, located in the port of Lézardrieux.
