Spain-based Avintia Energía has obtained a positive environmental impact statement for a portfolio of 11 renewable energy projects in Spain totalling 281MW.
These projects include three wind farms (65MW) and eight solar parks (216MW).
The three wind projects are in Galicia, while the eight photovoltaic parks will be located in Castilla la Mancha (4), Andalusia (2), Castilla y León (1) and Valencia (1).
José Castelo, General Director of Avintia Energía, said: “This milestone of positive DIAs allows us to take the first steps within our strategic plan and begin to make visible the work behind each renewable energy project, encouraging us to continue working for decarbonisation and the production of cleaner energy.”
The company already has a second portfolio of four projects underway, with the capacity to generate 230MW for which it expects to receive a positive environmental impact statement shortly.
Avintia Energía also has 36 “ready to bid” projects for capacity tenders, verified with low or no environmental sensitivity, corresponding to its third portfolio.
This will add 2420MW covering 4750 hectares, distributed in strategic locations throughout Spain, close to electrical substations, complying with the requirements of the “simplification of authorisation procedures” of RD 20/2022.
