RWE has charted Rem Offshore’s newbuild CSOV Rem Power (pictured) to support the construction phase of the 1400MW Sofia Offshore Wind Farm in the UK.
The two-year contract will see the vessel providing welfare and transfer services to personnel for asset maintenance and also operating as the construction and marine coordination hub, with startup Q2 2024.
The Sofia Offshore Wind Farm project is located on Dogger Bank in the central North Sea, 195km off the north east coast of England.
The CSOV Rem Power will work out of the Port of Blyth which will be the base for the project’s offshore construction.
Rem chief commercial officer Ronny Pål Kvalsvik said: “The vessel has been developed in close cooperation with the designer and meets all client requirements, with several inventive features which meet future requirements for zero emission and optimal workflow.”
