Odfjell Oceanwind has announced that it will enter its UtsiraVIND project in the competition for seabed lease for floating offshore wind on Utsira Nord west of Haugesund in Norway.
The company will work together with its partner Source Galileo to secure one of three seabed leases of 500MW each.
The seabed leases will be awarded based on qualitative criteria and the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has recently sent their proposed criteria for award on hearing.
In addition, Odfjell Oceanwind and Source Galileo provided their inputs in the hearing round.
Among their main messages was that Utsira Nord could potentially be developed by 2028. The partners said that the ministry should prioritise players that are in a position to develop the projects fast.
