Ilmatar eyes up 550MW Swedish solar project

Audax Renovables has started construction of five solar farms totalling 26MW in Spain.

These projects will be located in Guadalajara, with one 4.12MW site in the municipality of Yunquera de Henares and the remaining four in the municipality of Cabanillas del Campo.

The latter will comprise 39,489 550W modules with 1-axis tracker category Tier-1, which will generate 40.5 gigawatt hours a year, equivalent to the energy consumption of almost 11,500 homes and about 36,000 people.

This complex is expected to take one year to build will be connected to the Cabanillas del Campo substation and will have its own transmission line measuring over 5km.

Elsewhere, the project in Yunquera de Henares will feature 7,482 550W modules and will generate 7.7 GWh/year, preventing the emission of around 1,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

It will be connected to the Yunquera de Henares substation and will have its own transmission line measuring over 2.5km.

The solar farm will also have an estimated construction period of approximately one year.

Audax said it is at a very advanced stage of negotiations to obtain the appropriate financing of each of these projects.

This financing will be non-recourse, following the same structure as other previous projects in the Audax’s operating portfolio, it added.

Audax currently has 226MW of installed solar and wind capacity across Europe, with 19.2MW in the start-up phase, comprising the La Miranda and Zaratán 1 and 2 photovoltaic projects, as well as 21.87MW of projects under construction.
