Results of Federal Network Agency’s (BNetzA) December tender for onshore wind have resulted in just 189MW of agreed bids.
The tender was held to close the gap in onshore wind capacity tendered in 2021 for which n contracts were award.
“Uncertainty jeopardises expansion of onshore wind energy,” said Dennis Rendschmidt, Managing Director VDMA Power Systems, following the latest results.
BNetzA has reduced the tender volume from 1190MW to 604MW.
“With bids totalling 189MW, the tender has once again been clearly undersigned,” stated VDMA Power Systems. The average surcharge value is 5.87 euro ct/kWh.
Cost increases and rises in interest rates mean that projects with the previously applicable maximum value are not economically feasible, the association stated and has urged BNetzA to apply a maximum value increase “as soon as possible” to avoid future gaps in new construction, so that the forthcoming rounds of tenders can “get more projects off the ground again”.
The bid values of the successful bids are in the range between 5.86 ct/kWh and the permissible maximum value of 5.88 ct/kWh. At 5.87 ct/kWh.
