Correll Group has secured a contract from Global Marine Group for the post-installation integrity testing of all 27 inter-array cables on the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm.
Arcadis Ost 1 is located in the Baltic Sea, 19km northeast of the island of Rugen in Germany. Spanning an area of 29sq km and consisting of 27 Vestas V 174 – 9.5MW wind turbines, Arcadis Ost 1 will have the capacity of 257MW when fully operational, producing enough green energy to power up to 290,000 households.
Scheduled for completion in early 2023, the project will use state-of-the-art construction methods for the installation of some of the world’s largest wind turbines.
Sam Dowey, Managing Director at Correll, commented: “We are extremely proud to have been awarded this contract from the Global Marine Group and to be working on this project.
“Arcadis Ost 1 will be the first offshore wind farm to deploy a floating vessel for the installation of the wind turbine generators – a significant innovation and a major step forward for the offshore wind industry.”
