RES has sold the onshore Aberarder Wind Farm to SSE Renewables.
The 12-turbine project located in Strathnairn, near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands has a consented capacity of 49.9MW.
Aberarder Wind Farm is located directly adjacent to the operational 94MW Dunmaglass Wind Farm, a project that was also developed by RES. Aberarder was consented in 2017 and when constructed the wind farm will contribute to a more secure and diverse energy supply for Scotland and the UK.
Lucy Whitford, UK&I Managing Director, RES, commented: “RES is delighted to announce the sale of Aberarder Wind Farm, marking another milestone in our long and proud history of developing outstanding renewable energy projects in the Scottish Highlands.
“RES is investing significantly in our wind, solar, green hydrogen and energy storage development portfolio across the UK and Ireland. The sale of Aberarder further strengthens our position as a leading investor in renewable energy, the technologies that will reduce energy costs for consumers, increase our energy security and help us to tackle climate change.”
