Nordex has confirmed a turbine order placed by Ignitis for a 137MW wind project in Poland.
A subsidiary of Ignitis, Lithuania’s state energy holding company, commissioned Nordex to supply 37 N117/3600 turbines for the Silesia 2 wind farm, with an option to extend the order by one additional turbine.
Delivery and installation work near to the city of Opole in the south-west of the country is due to start in summer 2023 for the wind farm to begin operations in 2024.
The order also includes a 15-year service contract with an option to extend the period by additional five years.
Nordex is to install the turbines on 134-metre tubular steel towers.
Ignitis acquired the Silesia 2 project last month.
The Silesia 2 wind farm is in the vicinity of the 50MW Silesia 1 wind farm, which Ignitis also commissioned from Nordex, at the end of 2021, to supply N117/3600 turbines.
With this order Nordex has so far received orders totalling 340 MW from Ignitis for wind farms in Poland and Lithuania.
