China’s COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers has received a contract from Moray Offshore Windfarm (West) to transport monopiles from China to the Moray West wind farm in Scotland.
To carry out the work, COSCO will provide two X-class type vessels in 2023.

Once complete, the Moray West offshore wind farm will have a generating capacity of 882MW, capable of powering up to 640,000 UK homes.
