Perth-based EC20 and Norwich-based Opergy will merge their clean energy consultancies under the Opergy Group brand.
The two companies will combine their decades of experience within the industry to enact tangible changes in the race to net zero, creating supply chain opportunities along the way.
Founded in 2019, Opergy supports businesses with industry insights and solutions to drive innovation and growth in a way that makes a positive impact on people, places, and the planet. It works with energy supply chains, developers, and organisations to make real change in industry.
EC20 specialises in working with developers to understand who they can work with and introducing them to supply chain companies already operating in the UK. Alongside this, they support government bodies across the world to support and develop their own supply chain and benefit from the offshore wind sector.
Isla Robb, current director for EC20, will become the managing director of Opergy Scotland – a location Opergy already has presence in – as well as a director of the Opergy Group alongside Johnathan Renyolds (managing director), Kim Duffy (finance director), and Martin Dronfield (commercial director).
Opergy Group Managing Director Johnathan Reynolds said: “As we’ve discovered from activities such as the recent Floating Offshore Wind report we completed for the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, there’s huge opportunities in the clean energy sector in Scotland. Combining the experience both Isla and our Senior Management Team possess is a no brainer.
“We’re already making great progress in the northern-most parts of the UK. The addition of Isla’s reputation will give us the competitive edge, becoming an unstoppable countrywide force in the clean energy sector.”
Isla Robb added: “By bringing EC20 under the Opergy Group umbrella, we’re combining two like-minded companies with shared common values. In doing so, I’m excited about the significant contributions we’ll make to the energy transition in a meaningful and tangible way.
“For EC20’s customers, they’ll continue to trade with the same registered entity, just under a new name and with the added benefits of accessing the Opergy Group’s wide range of services and expertise.”
