A Global Wind Organisation-certified training centre is to be established in Nagasaki, Japan through a collaboration agreement between Maersk Training and Nagasaki Marine Industry Cluster Promotion Association (NaMICPA).
The facility is expected to be operational by 2024 and will deliver industry-relevant training in support of Japan’s ambitions to expand its offshore wind fleet.
The scheme is being funded by The Nippon Foundation.
Under a consultancy agreement, Maersk Training will provide safety and operational performance guidance to NaMICPA, which aims to become the region’s leader in Basic Safety Training and Basic Technical Training programmes certified by GWO.
Maersk Training operates in 16 countries worldwide, specialising in developing skills across renewables, maritime and oil and gas sectors.
