Qair commissions seventh Polish wind farm

French independent renewables company Qair has commissioned its seventh wind farm in Poland.

The 12.8MW project in Olszowka Wind Park consists of six Vestas turbines of which four are 2.2MW and two are 2MW. With the potential to generate 43GWh of electricity per year, the park can meet the energy demand of approximately 24,000 households.

In addition, the electricity it produces will avoid the annual emission of approximately 33,700 tonnes of CO2.

Qair currently owns and operates 258MW of installed operating capacity in wind and photovoltaic farms in Poland.

Currently, Qair owns and operates seven wind parks in Rzepin, Linowo, Udanin, Wrzesnia, Parzeczew, Rychwal and Olszowka generating electricity through a total of 93 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 205 MW. Additionally, the project portfolio is supplemented by photovoltaic farms with a total capacity of 53 MW.

In addition, by the end of 2022, Qair plans to commission new wind farms in Wadroże Wielkie and Wisznice. In 2023, projects with a total capacity of 82MW will enter the operational phase, including those in Stawiszyn and Widuchowa, as well as an over 80-hectare photovoltaic farm in Kalisz Pomorski, and nine smaller PV farms located in Dolny Slask and Wielkopolska.

“The Olszowka farm is the second wind farm project that we have put into operation in recent months,” said Qair Polska CEO Krzysztof Wojtysiak.

“Poland deserves an even more affordable electricity from RES and we can contribute to make a positive difference. With the soaring energy prices, both businesses and individuals are awaiting solutions. In the coming months, we plan to complete the construction of four additional wind farms and ten photovoltaic projects, increasing our operating volume to almost 400 MW.”
