Enercon has secured a turbine order from French developer Valorem for a wind project in North Hérault in France.
The order is for the 14.1MW Amoures Bouissac park, located in the town of Ceilhes-et-Rocozels.
Enercon is supplying six E-82 type turbines, each with a capacity of 2.35MW, marking the first collaboration with Valorem.
The commissioning of the wind farm is scheduled for early 2024 and Enercon will service the turbines from its maintenance base in Soubès, which already manages 120MW (66 turbines) and employs six technicians.
The development of the Amoures Bouissac project, worth an investment of €24.5m began back in 2021, with its building permit granted in 2016.
Pending a connection solution on the electrical network, Valorem chose to optimise its project by increasing the wind turbine blade length of six metres, increasing the wind farm’s production by more than 20%.
Philippe Tavernier, Deputy Managing Director of Valorem, said: “We are delighted with this first collaboration between our group and Enercon and hope that it will be followed by many other achievements on our projects in France and in Europe.”
