Heerema Marine Contractors’ Aegir vessel has installed the first three 100% Taiwanese-made foundation jackets for Orsted’s 900MW Greater Changhua 1&2a offshore wind.
The SDMS constructed jackets were loaded out from the Sing Da Harbor in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
The jackets are specially designed to perform under the unique local weather and seabed conditions, with a height of around 80 metres.

Orsted said last week that the first Taiwanese jacket foundations “constitute a true milestone for the local offshore wind industry”.
