Innergex Renewable Energy has signed a long-term 320MW PPA deal with PacifiCorp to supply electricity from its Boswell Springs onshore wind project in Wyoming, US.
The 30-year agreement will cover power produced by the wind farm once it is operational at the end of 2024.
It follows a competitive solicitation by Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary PacifiCorp, issued in July 2020.
Innergex chief executive Michel Letellier said: “The execution of the Boswell Springs PPA with PacifiCorp is a significant milestone for the project and Innergex’s development efforts in the US.
“The contract will provide Innergex with long-term revenue certainty with a high quality, well-capitalised utility.
“Once constructed, Boswell Springs promises to contribute to improving our payout ratio and to make a significant contribution to the decarbonisation targets of the western states, where Innergex sees growing opportunities.”
Innergex said the total construction costs for Boswell Springs are likely to reach $544m.
The PPA arrangement remains subject to written approval by the Wyoming Public Service Commission.
