PPAYA has negotiated a power purchase agreement with Muirhall Energy for the latter’s 36MW Greengairs East wind farm in Scotland.
Sarah McIntosh, Managing Director of Muirhall Energy, which owns and operates Greengairs East, said: “Following PPAYA’s success in securing a strong PPA agreement for our Crossdykes site in 2021, they have delivered again by securing a competitive and sustainable PPA price for our Greengairs East project.
“It was an outstanding offer given the backdrop of the current volatile energy market.”
Last December, PPAYA has signed up the largest subsidy-free wind farm, the 46MW Crossdykes development which, like Greengairs East, was constructed by Muirhall Energy and its partner, WWS Development.
Since launching in mid-2021, PPAYA has signed up over 150 generators across wind, hydro, solar and anaerobic digestion, with a total production capacity of close to 500 megawatt-hours, of which over 200MW has been locked in successfully with Big Six and reputational suppliers of strong financial backing.
Kristina Rabecaite, PPAYA’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to reach this agreement with Greengairs and look forward to working hard to ensure they get the very best price for the electricity they produce.
“Greengairs is just the latest world-class on-shore wind farm we have signed to our platform and we believe this to be a testament to the quality of PPAYA’s strategy and technology.”
