UK energy storage developer Cambridge Power has secured planning for a 100MW grid battery site in Suffolk.
The energy storage project will be located on Bullen Lane in Bramford.
The 100MW site is the latest battery storage project to secure planning permission in Cambridge Power’s growing portfolio.
The Bramford battery will provide local grid storage services in order to assist in the transition to net zero and low carbon forms of electricity.
Cambridge Power CEO Giles Hanglin said: “We are delighted to secure planning permission for the BESS site in Bramford.
“Its location adjacent to the Bramford substation further adds to its credentials as an excellent storage site to assist with delivering offshore wind and interconnectors on the east coast of Suffolk.”
To date, Cambridge Power, founded by Pigeon Investment Management, has secured planning permissions for 210MW with further projects expected to achieve permissions in the coming weeks, the developer said.
