Nordex has recorded 1836MW of turbine orders in the second quarter of 2022.
Firm order intake was up compared with the second quarter in 2021, which stood at 1.5GW and includes a 200MW US project.
The firm order intake in the projects segment (excluding service business) reached a volume of 3002MW in the first half of 2022, compared with 2782MW, in the first half of 2021.
The share of efficient and high-margin Delta4000 wind turbines amounted to 93% in the second quarter of 2022, compared with 89% in the same quarter in 2021.
Between April and June 2022, customers ordered a total of 346 wind turbines for projects in 15 countries.
Of the total order volume in the second quarter, Europe accounted for approximately 58%, Latin America for approximately 31% and North America for 11%.
The strongest individual markets in Europe were Germany, Poland and Spain, with regard to Latin America high-volume orders came from Colombia and in North America one order from the US.
With a total of 205 turbines and a combined output of almost 1200MW, 65% of the firm new orders are for the turbine models with more than 5MW of installed nominal output.
This also includes two orders from Germany for the N163/6.X, which is Nordex’s latest turbine model and was installed for the first time in May.
Nordex CEO José Luis Blanco said: “In the second quarter we benefited again from our strong market position in Europe.
“However, we also recorded a high demand for our Delta4000 series outside Europe and achieved an order intake of around 780MW here.
“Orders from Colombia and an order from the US made a decisive contribution here, which I am very pleased about and underlines our global orientation.
“With an order intake of around 3GW in the first half of the year, we are starting the second half of the year on a stronger footing.”
