Falck Renewables has begun construction activities at two wind projects in Finland, which it acquired from European Energy.
The two ready-to-build projects, Mustalamminmäki and Koiramäki, are located in the municipality of Karstula (Central Finland), with a total installed capacity of 59MW.
Mustalamminmäki and Koiramäki are the first projects for Falck Renewables in Finland.
In the next months, the work will lead to excavations, foundations until the delivering of substations, installation of turbines and eventual commercial operations, which is expected by the end of 2023.
The main contractor for civil and electrical works is Stenger & Ibsen Construction, while the turbines are supplied by Nordex Group who will also be responsible for their maintenance.
As at other Falck Renewables’ plants around the world, people living near the two wind farms will benefit from its community engagement programmes.
Falck Renewables had started working on an initiative engaging local partners to support projects by sharing the value created.
