Management consultancy Offshore Construction Associates (OCA) is expanding its operations in the US with new offices opening in both New Bedford, in Massachusetts and Charleston, in South Carolina.
New Bedford continues to accelerate as an essential hub for the east coast offshore wind industry.
The city serves as an operational base for the construction of the first full-scale offshore wind project in the US as well as base for various other campaigns conducted in development of future projects.
Plans for further growth and development of the city with regards to offshore wind operations will solidify the city’s status. Establishing an office in New Bedford allows OCA to work closely with its clients at integral stages of their projects while being part of a growing industry and economy.
In addition, the new OCA South Carolina office opened this month.
Having been operating in the area remotely for the past 18 months, the office solidifies OCA’s presence in the Carolinas and “positions the business for further growth” in the south-east region of the country, following BOEM’s recent successful lease auction for two areas in Carolina Long Bay.
OCA chief executive Nick Wordsworth said: “our US expansion strategy focuses on being the preferred choice for our clients and our staff.
“In the US that means expanding our geographical diversity to provide local teams of US staff to better support our clients’ needs.
“This also entails giving those staff the opportunity to work more closely, learn from each other and share their experience – something that these new friendly office environments will accelerate.”
